STUDENTS CRITICIZE ELDER COLLEAGUES
"According to Tatul Manaseryan, Shavarsh Kocharyan was born as a result of a human mutation".

Such kinds of expressions in the reality of Armenian Media, offensive treatment towards different personalities are obvious and intolerable. Any individuality, occupied in this sphere, must follow the ethical norms of the journalist. Alas, just few of the Media have exact and formed moral norms but the ignorance of the law does not relieve from the responsibility.

Students of the Faculty of the Journalism speak on the numerous mistakes and ethical infringements in our Media in 2006. A conference headed Ethical Problems in Armenian Media is held at the faculty for the 4th time. The initiative belongs to the students of the Faculty Shushan Doydoyan and Liana Sayadyan, the coordinator is Scientific Student Council of the faculty.

Five works were discussed during the conference. Liana Sayadyan stated that each year they try to involve more students to take part in the research activities. Last year both issued and on-line Media were researched. The scale of the research became larger this year: private and public TV companies are involved in the process.

First year student of the Magistracy of the Faculty of Journalism Sona Martirosyan had chosen a topic entitled Ethical Problems in the Private TV Companies by the Example of Information-analytic Programs of Kentron and Shant TVs. The author had stressed on the existence of the invisible advertisement. It is better for these TV companies to become the official microphone of any of the political parties, and not make different rumours spread, -ensures us Sona.

It is difficult to say if the conferences of the kind can make changes in the way of work of Media. But one thing is obvious: only some of the invited journalists had come to learn what remarks have future journalists got about which they would like to speak with their elder colleagues. To Sonas mind they do not have a wish to learn the truth about them or just ignore such kind of events. Tutor Liana Sayadyan is sure that as there is no motion to change something in our society, everything will remain the same.
