WAHID GALAL IN YSU
WAHID GALAL IN YSU
The Arabian speaking guest visited YSU Faculty of Oriental Studies Chair of Arabic Studies today.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Arab Republic of Egypt to Armenia Wahid Galal visited students and professorial staff of YSU Faculty of Oriental Studies Chair of Arabic Studies.

The meeting passed in the auditorium named after Mubarak, devoted to Egypt. The working language of the meeting was Arabian. Only in the beginning Dean of the faculty greeted the honorable guest in Armenian language.

The University cooperates with many countries, but the friendship with Egypt has special importance and value for our faculty. Very few people from friends of University give on own means possibility to our students to pass in their countries training, and to our teachers - retraining. Egypt - one of such good friends, - was noted in the greeting speech of Dean of YSU Faculty of Oriental Studies Gurgen Melikyan.

The ambassador was greeted by faculty tutors of Arabic language, and they talked about Armenian-Egyptian relations. Some students presented works in Arabian language.

A student of this chair Manushak Babayan noticed that feels something special when her Arabian speech is heard by the person who not only speaks, but also thinks in Arabian way. In conversation with Arab it is necessary to consider as well his way of thinking, religion, and in dialogue with the lecturers these nuances are not considered.

After the Ambassador made his speech students had a possibility to start a discussion. As Gurgen Melikyan informed, the meeting with the Ambassador will have its continuation: he will visit our University in spring, too. In the end of this meeting Gurgen Melikyan on behalf of faculty presented the Ambassador Artsakh ornament from 34 thousand knots.

Mr. Melikyan mentioned that annually 5 students and 5 teachers have an opportunity to be trained and retrained in Egypt. According to the agreement, the number of participants will increase further. Gurgen Melikyan makes an accent on importance of such meetings, considering them as one of the most effective methods of studying language and culture.
