In the Republic of Artsakh, 7 days in a row nearly 160 students lived according to the military daily routine in the scopes of the Pan-Armenian military camp.
It is the 4th time that Student Military Camp takes place in Artsakh. Unlike previous camps, this one included students from different Universities in Armenia, Artsakh and Javakhk. The 9 squads, which stand for the 9 defense regions of Artsakh, tried their abilities in the intellectual, cultural and sport activities, participated in military trainings and lecturers. In Artsakh the day of the students started with doing physical exercises and ended with nominal.
According to the head of the center of Student Affairs Vahagn Varagyan, the projects have two important meaning: “Students, being in the military units, have passed combat trainig and living according to the rules of military routine understood how much efforts our soldiers put in order to protect our lands”.
During the military camp, a lot of lecturers have been read about different topics. The advisor of Artsakh’s president, security expert Tigran Abrahamyan spoke about military-political problems in the region.
General-Leutenant Artur Aghabekyan answered student’s questions referring to the April war.
The next meeting was with the Defence Minister of RA Vigen Sargsyan, the Commander of Artsakh Defense Army Lyova Mnatsakanyan, the deputy chief of the Staff of Presidential Administration of RA Aleksan Harutyunyan. The Defence Minister Vigen Sargsyan stressed the importance of such kind of projects and ensured that the Defense Ministry of RA will support to the project to become wider. “I am really very happy that YSU organizes such kind of projects. It is exciting that future soldiers imagine what kind of problems are in front of him”.
Students the participants of military camp were in a number of historic places. The last day of the military camp a traditional fire was made and the students were singing and dancing till the morning. At the end of the project the participants got their certificates.

David Amalyan and Sona Rubenyan who were also among the members of the jury of the competition "Singing Student" today congratulated the 96th anniversary of YSU and awarded the student. The talented students of YSU's Culture Commission represented a beautiful dance and song. During the national dance of YSU SC's Culture Commission the whole hall was accompanying them holding hand by hand. And as the earth rumbles as the armenian soldier steps, the same way the YSU big hall rumbled because of that national dance. As the chairman of YSU Raffi Qaramyan mentioned, that such events were the result of students' liveliness and numerous students of different faculties could take part in it: this fact inspired students to participate in the events even more. As an answer to our question if YSU being the biggest student organization was going to organize such events in a large scale, Raffi Qaramyan answered "Naturally I would like this kind of events to be organized not only as inter-university activites but also in a wide scale, because that way YSU SC would be even more popular and even more students will be indulged in our activities. Irrespective of everything we don't see difference between our and other universities: our aim is to be united. As for these events we yet don't have any particular plans but there are some plans which are aimed at indulging students from other universities in them. And if our events succeed we will already think about acting in inter-institutional events".
YSU SC traditionally organizes the seminar course entitled ‘ Student government issues in YSU ‘. This year it will be organized in February and will be composed of two stages : Yerevan and Tsakhadzor. The participants of Yerevan will be chosen according to their application , and for Tsakhadzor will be chosen the students who have been active during the discussion of the 1st stage. Taking part in the course of ‘Student government issues in YSU’ , you will get a chance to complete your knowledge about YSU government and YSU student structure’s government. ‘This program differs from the programs that have been organized before , as our purpose was to help children never stop to believe in dreams’ , marked V. Qaramyan, the president of Public Relations and Media Commission. The children of FAR have written their letters to Santa Claus . The children dreamt about achievable things :basically toys and clothes. The SC of YSU worked hard to make the event efficient and interesting. The hall was overcrowded , which speaks about students’ interest and compassion. The event was composed of two parts:
The first part was the concert one , and during it performed GayaneAvdalyan, ArajikSargsyan, Shota Ghazaryan, Mariam Hakobyan, Margarita Oganova and others. The folk dance group of YSU encouraged the audience with its traditional ‘papur’ and other dances. The second part of the event was the football . The anthem of the Republic of Armenia sounded and just after it the commission of Scientific and Public Relations and Media Issues played against each other.
During the struggle the Scientific Committee was recognized the winner with 6 to 4 .During the game the activity in the grandstands has culminated. The fans not only spelled the name of their favorite commission , but also waved their homemade posters and the tricolor. According to R. Qaramyansuch programs will be continuous , as they serve not only for good job , but also unite the students . The day was finished with smiles . The children were happy for their fulfilled dreams ,and the students were happy to fulfil one of the dreams of the children.
In the playing field SC’s scientific-educational and Public Relations and Media Affairs Committee’s team will come against each other , after that their joint team will compete with SC’s presidency team. The money collected during the program will be used to buy the desired gifts, which Child Support Center’s children marked in their new year cards, as well as to take care of their other needs.
