According to the decision by the Academic Council of Yerevan State University of Architecture and Construction, made on June 19, NAS RA Associate Member, Doctor of History, Professor, YSU Rector, Head of the Council of the RA State HEI Aram Simonyan was awarded Jim Torosyan Gold Medal for the significant contribution in the reformation process of education and science.

Rector of YSUAC Hovhannes Tokmajyan noted YSU has had a great role in the process of development and introduction of the professions in the area of construction and especially in the recent period, when Armenia joined the Bologna Process.

H. Tokmajyan expressed his gratitude for the assistance and added: When we were engaged in opening the water systems laboratory at the Institute of Water Problems Microtechnics, which was unprecedented, the first signature on that document belonged to Mr. Simonyan, - said YSUAC Rector.

YSU Rector, in turn, expressed his gratitude for this honor. Then the participants of the event visited a number of specialized laboratories and discussed current education programs of the HEI.
