The signing ceremony took place today during the visit of the delegation of the Artsakh University to YSU. First of all rectors of the two universities Aram Simonyan and Manush Minasyan discussed a number of issues related to education and universities in general, and then outlined the areas to develop the cooperation.
“We are now in the process of accreditation. A great job has been done in these two years. Significant progress has already been registered and we are ready to share with you both positive and negative experiences for you to avoid our mistakes. Our experts are ready to consult you on any issue,” - said Mr. Simonyan.
Under the agreement, two Armenian universities will cooperate in education, research and methodological spheres, as well as develop and implement joint programs, organize academic exchange of students and tutors, as well as conduct information, sports and cultural activities.
According to the rectors of the two universities it is very important to involve Artsakh experts in grant programs to conduct joint researches.
Despite the fact that every year the delegation of YSU visits Artsakh (scientific conferences, student activities, tree planting, etc.) however, the cooperation at the level of universities was not very active. After signing the agreement specific areas for the joint cooperation were highlighted. Artsakh delegation visited some major centers of YSU to learn of the ongoing working process.
“Our HEI has a lot of the problems associated with re-training, the introduction of the Bologna system, educational programs. The education process is organized well, but in scientific terms, I can not say there is tangible progress. We have great scientific potential, and we would like to cooperate in this direction,” - said the rector of ASU Manush Minasyan.
