As part of the cooperation between the YSU Alumni and Career Center, the Chair of Actuarial and Financial Mathematics at YSU Faculty of Mathematics and Mechanics, and the Competition Protection Commission, a lecture titled "The Rules of Fair Play: The Role of Competition Protection in Market Regulation" was held for students.
Tigran Markosyan, Candidate of Legal Sciences, Associate Professor, and member of the Competition Protection Commission, led the lecture during which students learned about the Commission, its functions, competition violations, and measures to address them.
Students were also introduced to the protection of intellectual property in competition law, including the prerequisites and features of intellectual property protection.
Karine Avetisyan, Head of the Chair of Actuarial and Financial Mathematics at YSU, emphasized the importance of such initiatives, stating, "Regular meetings between students and representatives of the state administration system are essential. The theoretical knowledge students gain about the functions of state bodies at the university is reinforced by the practical examples shared by the speakers. We will periodically organize similar meetings to ensure that the skills students acquire are comprehensive and practical."
YSU student Margarita Ghazaryan emphasized the effectiveness of the lecture, noting, "The topic is relevant and interesting. Thanks to such meetings, participants gain a better understanding of not only the Commission's activities but also their rights in the field of competition protection. As a future lawyer, I value the opportunity to learn about the legal aspects of the committee's work."
At the end of the meeting, the speaker also addressed the students' questions.
