Chair of General Mathematics

The Chair of General Mathematics implements several educational programs, which mainly include general mathematics courses for 1st and 2nd year students of both the Faculty of Mathematics and Mechanics and various natural science faculties of YSU.

In recent years, the Chair has been headed by professors V.Kh. Musoyan, A. I. Petrosyan. Since 2014, the head of the Chair has been Dr. K. L. Avetisyan.

The employees of the Chair, in particular, teach a course in mathematical analysis for 1st and 2nd year students of actuarial and financial mathematics, as well as 1st year students of the Faculty of Economics and Management. General courses in higher mathematics are taught for students of the Faculties of Chemistry, Biology, Geography and Geology, and the Institute of Pharmacy.

The staff of the Chair is involved in various grant programs. The main directions of their scientific interests are the theory of functional weight spaces and related operators in multidimensional domains and some applications in the framework of quaternion and Clifford analysis.

The Chair has scientific cooperation with the Bauhaus University in Weimar (Germany) and the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm (Sweden).
