Chair of Theory of Functions and Differential Equations
The Chair of Function Theory and Differential Equations was formed in 2021 based on the Chairs of Mathematical Analysis, and Theory of Functions and Differential Equations. Founded in 2012, the Chair was headed by RA NAS academicians M. M. Jrbashyan, N. H. Arakelyan, G. G. Gevorgyan, corresponding member of the RA NAS V. H. Martirosyan, Ph.D. professors A. I. Petrosyan, and H. M. Hayrapetyan. The Chair employees give lectures at various faculties of YSU.
The Chair was founded by RA NAS academician R. A. Alexandryan in 1954, and was headed by A. Alexandryan, Professor H. M. Martirosyan, Doctor I. G. Khachatryan, Professor T. N. Harutyunyan, Associate Professor A. H. Kamalyan, and Professor Kh. A. Khachatryan.
The Department of Function Theory and Differential Equations conducts research in function theory (functions of a complex variable, orthogonal and biorthogonal systems, harmonic analysis and approximations), spectral theory of differential operators, various types of partial differential equations, and linear and nonlinear integral equations.
Within the framework of its scientific activities, the Department collaborates with the universities of Warsaw, Boston, Tbilisi, Minsk, South Carolina, Berlin, Stockholm, Bremen, Paris, Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Rostov-on-Don.
