About the program
The "Foreign Literature" Master’s degree program is in line with the problems that are set before the Foreign Literature Chair of the YSU Faculty of European Languages and Communication. The study of world literature will greatly contribute to the formation of the Western value system and modern thinking in literary studies, the demand of which is greatly felt today.
The aim of the program
The educational program aims to prepare such literary scholars who, having mastered Western European languages will be able to cooperate with leading experts in the fields of education, science, and culture of RA and foreign colleagues and contribute to the rooting of modern literary methods and thinking.

Students of the Master’s degree program can choose to study "Spanish literature of the 20th century", "Western European literary trends of the 20th century", "Borges and Latin American prose", "Literature and Cinema", "Literature and politics", "French literature", "Literary semiotics", "Comparative literary studies", "Psychology and literature", "Rilke and German literature" and many other optional subjects.

Within the "Foreign Literature" Master's degree program, students have the opportunity to study from ancient literature to modern Anglo-American, French, Italian, Spanish, and German literature of the 21st century. The program prepares literary experts according to international standards, who know the history and languages of Western European and American literature and are competitive in the labor market.
In the framework of the "Foreign Literature" Master's degree program, internships are organized in public high schools, different faculties of YSU, RA Institute of Literature after M. Abeghyan, Matenadaran, and major publishing houses of the Republic ("New Mag", "Zangak", etc.).

Graduates of the "Foreign Literature" Master's degree program can work in all sectors of RA higher education and economy, where specialists in foreign literature with knowledge of a foreign language are required. They work as lecturers, researchers, scientists, teachers, and scientific project managers, the jobs can be found in the publishing system as well, where the graduates can participate in the design and supervision of publishing and translation programs, holding international conferences and exhibitions, implementing the general publishing policy, etc.
