1. Admission criteria/requirements
Admission is carried out according to the "YSU’s Master's degree admission procedure (full-time and part-time modes of study)" (approved by YSU Academic Council’s decision N9/2 of May 26, 2022).
2. Programme Objectives
The program aims to train service industry management, planning, and organization specialists who will:
· know the theory of service science and master the methodology,
· develop principles and strategic plans for the organization of service work,
· carry out practical management professional activities in service
. apply the theoretical knowledge, practical abilities, and skills following the current trends and requirements of the development of the service sector.

3. Educational outcomes of the programme
Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to:
- • analyze the principles of service organization,
- • identify the structural features of the service sector from the point of view of sustainable development
- • classify and describe research indicators on the economy, service, socio-cultural services, and tourism sectors,
- • represent the service industry, infrastructure, and resources;
- • indicate the directions of organization, improvement, and development of service activities
- • differentiate the separate approaches of the studies of the organization of service activities, and their features (sociological, economic, cultural, geographical, and other aspects).
- • practically carry out marketing and managerial activities in tourism,
- • analyze the conditions, prerequisites, factors, and current trends of service activity formation,
- • assess the importance of social, economic, cultural, and environmental components necessary for the development of service activities from the point of view of proportionate, proportionate and adequate satisfaction of requirements,
- • predict the prospective processes of development and territorial allocation of separate directions of service activity,
- • carry out efficient and high-level customer reception, hospitality, and services in the contact zone,
- • analyze and evaluate service organization programs; design and implement service activity programs.

4. Assessment methods
According to the new "Educational Process Organization" order, the forms of assessment are:
· courses with a final assessment

· courses without mid-term exam assessment
· check-up courses
The evaluation is carried out on a scale of twenty points; the minimum threshold is 10 points.

5. Graduates future career opportunities
Graduates can work in service enterprises, organizations providing socio-cultural services, and relevant state departments. They mainly work in communication (15%), tourism (15%), retail (15%), and accommodation (15%) enterprises as managers (29%), consultants (21%) and service staff.

· abilities to choose an appropriate teaching method and work with it,
. knowledge of interactive teaching methods,
· abilities to use active learning techniques.
Research
· abilities to develop scientific sources, to use the necessary information systems,
· abilities to solve scientific problems and conduct research in the professional field,
· abilities to create and implement research projects.
Communication
· ability to communicate with the audience verbally, in writing, remotely,
· ability to present, analyze, and discuss research results,
· Knowledge of Armenian language and foreign language.
ICT application
· basic computer (MS Office package: Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills,
· Ability to prepare and present digital presentation materials,
· Knowledge and ability to use online learning programs and digital technologies.

. Ability to estimate necessary resources and effectively implement projects, ability to plan and manage time.

· analyze and evaluate the place and role of tourism in the structure of the economy and the development process,
· identify the structural features of tourism in the service sector from the point of view of sustainable development,
· develop socio-cultural services and tourism organization programs, collect, analyze, and coordinate research indicators on the service and tourism sectors,
· assess the importance of the social, economic, cultural, and environmental components necessary for the development of sustainable tourism to ensure equality, tolerance, and vitality, assess the sustainable tourism industry, infrastructure, and resources;
· predict the prospective processes of development and territorial allocation of individual destinations of sustainable tourism,
· design and implement sustainable tourism programs.
3) General requirements
Academic degree
· an academic degree in geography or a related fields,
· availability of 3 scientific or methodical publications in the last five years,
· at least 1 participation in a scientific conference or workshop in the last 5 years.
Pedagogical experience
· at least 3 years of professional training or teaching experience,
· participation in training courses during the last 5 years.
Practical experience
· practical experience in the field.
Other requirements
. availability of online materials for at least 50% of taught subjects and, the student survey average of at least 4.0 (for teaching professors).

9. Additional information about the programme
When compiling the "Service" specialty program, various regulations adopted in RA, educational programs, training projects, results of discussions organized at the YSU Chair of Service, regulations of the World Tourism Organization and the International Association of Guides, educational programs, and training projects were taken into account.
