Tatevik Hakobyan, a student of the YSU Faculty of History, won the first place prize in the "Best Student" republican competition with graduate educational program in the field of human sciences. During the interview with Tatevik, we talked about the opportunities provided by the faculty and revealed her success story.
Being interested in the study of historical events, Tatevik was admitted to the Faculty of History of Yerevan State University. Her professors who have achieved many successes have been role models for her, and she has spared no effort to be named the best in the field.
"The moment I learned that I won the first place in the field of human sciences, I experienced different feelings. The title of the best student is obligatory. It makes you place importance on the past years of study and define the way forward. Such successes help me to appreciate what I have and to make sure that I have chosen the right path," Tatevik said.
Speaking about the choice of profession, she mentioned that her love for history arose during her school years, thanks to her older brother, who advised her to read books on historical topics. "After frequently reading historical books, my interest in history grew even more. The great desire to find answers to the questions "when?", "why?", "how?" brought me to the Faculty of History. The choice of the university was clear, because Yerevan State University was exactly the university where I wanted to study. As for choosing the profession, I must mention that I "fell in love" with the Faculty of History from the very first days."
During her student years, Tatevik showed high scientific and public activity, participating in various competitions and conferences, including international ones. She also actively participated in the activities of the YSU Student Scientific Society (SSS), first as a member of the SSS and then as the president of the faculty's SSS. Tatevik emphasized that the Student Scientific Society had a very important role in her life in establishing herself as a student, being actively involved in university life and many other issues.
Attaching importance to the opportunities provided by Yerevan State University, Tatevik emphasized that thanks to the versatile and deep knowledge she received at the university, she took her first steps in the scientific field still being a student. "While studying for a master's degree, I took more serious steps in the field of science and education. My participation in the international conference dedicated to the Second World War held in Stavropol, the Russian Federation in May 2023 was a significant experience for me. At the conference, I presented a report on "Participation of Armenians in the Battle of Stalingrad". My article with the same title was published in the collection published by the North-Caucasus Federal University (the Russian Federation).
Taking part in the republican conference entitled "Forgotten Armenian Heroes of the Second World War", Tatevik presented a report entitled "Doctor and Military Politician Avetik Burnazyan". The article of the same name was recently published in the collection of materials of the conference held at the "Mother Armenia" Military History Museum of the RA Ministry of Defense.
Summarizing the speech, Tatevik noted that desire, hard work and dedication have important roles in achieving success in the field of science and education. "I often say to myself: I can. You must just have desire and believe in your strength. Following the motto "Who, if not you", I always strive to learn new things and have victories.
The student from the Faculty of History has various projects that she is still thinking over. She is sure that her thoughts and goals will lead her again to science, YSU postgraduate degree, because she connects her future first of all with the university.
