1. Admission criteria/requirements
ADMISSION CRITERIA/REQUIREMENTS
Admission to the Bachelor's program in a full-time mode of study is carried out according to the relevant procedure approved by the Government of the Republic of Armenia. "Procedure for admission to state and non-state higher educational institutions of the Republic of Armenia (according to Bachelor's and continuing and integrated educational programs)" Decision of the Government of the Republic of Armenia (01.04.21 N 469-Ն).
Exams: Armenian language (written), foreign language (written), or Biology (written).

2. Programme Objectives
AIMS OF THE PROGRAM
·To form research knowledge about problems related to fundamental and applied areas of psychology.
·To develop the ability to combine theory, practice, and professional skills for the effective activity of a future psychologist-specialist.
·To prepare psychological specialists who will work in different fields, such as education, healthcare, social assistance, business, and justice.

3. Educational outcomes of the programme
Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to:
- To present the psychological problems and methodological principles related to fundamental and applied psychology.
- To describe mental processes, personal characteristics, patterns of age development, standards of mental health, and social-psychological mechanisms of interpersonal and intergroup formation.
- To define the main methods of organizing psychological research, data collection, analysis, and interpretation of results.
- To interpret the main ethical principles of the psychologist's professional activity, to point out their importance and the need to maintain them.
- To apply the main methods of psychological research according to meaning, analyze and interpret the obtained results.
- To apply a variety of psychological assessment and intervention tools/methods, making informed judgments and consultations.
- To differentiate the psychological problems existing in different spheres of human life and activity, to carry out actions aimed at solving these problems, assuming responsibility.
- To combine different approaches to psychological work, showing creativity.
- To present and interpret to the public the importance of psychological knowledge in understanding patterns of individual development and social relationships.
- To apply the ethical principles of the psychologist's professional activity, following the existing legal regulations on human rights.
- To cooperate with other specialists in the given and related fields, to work in a professional environment, assuming responsibility.
- To apply modern ICT knowledge for effective implementation of professional activities.
- To analyze and draw conclusions about theories, studies, and applied problems.
- To prepare reports, present research results, and conduct scientific debates.
- To organize practical work and/or further educational activities following own educational and professional needs and acquired practical knowledge.
4. Assessment methods
ASSESSMENT
Based on the workload of the courses (educational modules) provided by the curriculum of the educational program, the form of training, teaching methods, and taking into account the importance of the course in the formation of professional knowledge and abilities of the student, the courses are divided into 4 groups according to the form of assessment:
·with a final assessment,
·without a final assessment,
·without evaluation of mid-term exams,
·check-up.
Course evaluation components are:
• Mid-term written exams (summary of analytical answers according to the questionnaire, or writing tasks (research, application of the psychodiagnostic methodology, etc.), and/or mid-term oral exams (extensive analytical answers according to the questionnaire, or preparation of essays, independently and in groups) performance of works and oral presentation), which can imply the "Research Component".
• Mid-term check-ups (completion of assignments and presentation of material by the student during seminars),
• Independent work (implementation of written or oral analytical work on the assigned topic and public presentation)
• Participation (physical presence, active participation in question-and-answer and discussions at lectures and seminars),
• Final oral exams (clear, logical, justified, and complete answers to the questions on the exam). During the first two weeks of the semester, the lecturer informs the students about test forms, questionnaires, and dates, as well as evaluation methods and standards.
A 20-point scale is used to evaluate student learning outcomes at YSU.

Graduates of the "Psychology" educational program can independently carry out professional activities in psychodiagnosis, psychological support, healthcare, professional activities, social care, and education.
Graduates can work:
·in care and protection centers as specialists providing social care and psychological support
·in primary and high schools as psychodiagnostic, developmental, psychological healing, and support psychologists,
·in organizations as psychologists working with staff,
·in psychological service centers as specialists providing psychological diagnosis and support under the guidance of an experienced psychologist (under supervision);
·"World Vision Armenia" International Development and Charity Organization, "SOS Children's Villages" Foundation, Child Protection Center of the Fund for Armenian Relief Fund, "COAF" Children of Armenia Foundation, "Banali" Family Center, "Shirakatsi Seminary" Educational Complex, "Arpi’s Place" Center, "Aig" Psychological Services Center, "Psychosocial Regulation Center", Yerevan and regional pedagogical-psychological support centers.

The development of this educational program is based on the descriptors of the Bachelor's level of education of the RA National Framework of Higher Education Qualifications (NQF), the European framework ("Dublin descriptors"), the YSU educational program approval procedure of 2014 (approved by YSU Academic Council during the 4th session, January 30, 2014), as well as international program orientations and standards, such as American Psychological Association, National Standards for High School Psychology Curricula (approved 2022), Subject Benchmark Statement Psychology, Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education, UK (November 2019).
