Aiming to strengthen partnership ties and foster intercultural communication, a meeting was held with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brazil to Armenia Fabio Vaz Pitaluga in the YSU Paleans Hall. At the meeting, the Brazilian Ambassador delivered a lecture to YSU students and teaching staff.
During the lecture, the ambassador presented the main directions of Brazil's foreign policy and the history of Armenian-Brazilian diplomatic relations, touching upon the key cooperative principles.
Head of YSU International Cooperation Office Alexander Margarov, speaking about organizing the lecture, noted that a meeting between the YSU rector and the Brazilian ambassador took place a few days ago, at which the ambassador was offered to deliver a lecture.
"When organizing such meetings, the representatives of diverse international organizations and diplomatic missions have the opportunity to present their country, history, culture, as well as tell about the ongoing collaborations between Armenia and the given country. On the other hand, we provide an opportunity for our students to get acquainted and learn firsthand about those countries and their policies," said A. Margarov, adding that such meetings promote the creation of an appropriate environment at the university, which contributes to the strengthening of cooperation and the advancement of students' knowledge and skills.
Fabio Vaz Pitaluga, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brazil to Armenia, highlighted the significance of cooperation with YSU and noted: "I am glad to be at YSU today, and to have the opportunity to deliver a lecture on Brazil and Armenian-Brazilian relations. I value this cooperation with Yerevan State University since YSU is one of the highly-ranked universities in Armenia. I admire how YSU establishes cooperation both with us and with the universities in our country. In summary, I can confirm that currently our relations are at a high level," emphasized the ambassador.
At the end of the meeting, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brazil to Armenia Fabio Vaz Pitaluga answered the questions of YSU students, highlighting the role and importance of future diplomats in international processes.
The university periodically organizes meetings with foreign guest lecturers, diplomats and ambassadors, aiming to broaden partnership ties, as well as to provide extracurricular interactions between YSU students and the best specialists in the field.
