Leading up to the Day of Students and Youth, YSU students who received scholarships and tuition reimbursement from Byblos Bank Armenia during the 2023-2024 academic year, gathered to meet with Hayk Stepanyan, CEO of the bank. YSU Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan and Karlen Khachatryan, Dean of the YSU Faculty of Economics and Management, also attended the meeting.
One of the most important initiatives undertaken within the framework of the bank's 15th anniversary in 2023 was the signing of a memorandum of cooperation with the university. Under this memorandum, 10 YSU students received nominal scholarships from Byblos Bank Armenia, amounting to 1 million drams, while 5 students received tuition reimbursements during the 2023-2024 academic year. These 15 beneficiary students were from the YSU Faculty of Economics and Management.
At the meeting, Hayk Stepanyan, CEO of the bank, pointed out that the initiative is ongoing and in the upcoming years, Byblos Bank Armenia will continue to provide scholarships to high-achieving students of the YSU Faculty of Economics and Management.
YSU Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan emphasized the significance of the cooperation with Byblos Bank Armenia for the university, highlighting its role in fostering employer-educational connections.
"Today, in our conversation, we highlighted once again that this scholarship entails responsibility, as students are entrusted with utilizing it to further their educational achievements for career advancement. Similar cooperative initiatives between the university and an employer offer significant opportunities for everyone. I believe that our students will make the best of this opportunity, and the Byblos Bank Armenia scholarships will serve the purpose," noted Hovhannes Hovhannisyan.
At the end of the meeting, Hayk Stepanyan, CEO of the bank, said that he was impressed by the young students.
"We are grateful for the partnership with the university, as part of which an opportunity was provided to meet with the students who received scholarships from Byblos Bank Armenia. The meeting was impressive, and I hope that the scholarships will effectively fulfill their intended purposes. Byblos Bank Armenia prioritizes academic education, and this scholarship initiative remains a focal point for us," pointed out Hayk Stepanyan.
