General information
The history of the Armenian Highland in the III millennium BC and the 1st half of the II millennium BC can be revealed thanks to Sumerian, Akkadian, Old Hurrian, Eblaite, old Assyrian, Old and Middle Babylonian and Old Hittite sources. Most of them, however, have not yet been translated into Armenian, and a large number of original texts are not presently included into Armenian studies. The presented project aims to fill that gap. In case of realization of the project, as a final result two collections of sources covering the 1500-year period of the history of Armenia will be published: a) the sources of the III millennium BC about the Armenian Highland, b) the sources of the 1st half of the II millennium BC about the Armenian Highland. In addition to the collections, we will publish a number of studies in the form of scientific articles, and 1 popular science work (in Armenian, English and Russian, 150 pages each) which will summarize the main results of the study. It will be named "The Armenian Highland in the III millennium and the 1st half of the II millennium BC (according to written sources)".
