General information
The main objective of the project is to research and understand aspects of social and cultural persistence and survival of the religious diversity in Armenia taken in two historical periods: soviet and post-soviet. The research will be done within the dimensions of political history, historical anthropology, social/cultural anthropology and anthropology of law. We will attempt to comprehend how the picture of the religious diversity in Armenia has been changing throughout the soviet and postsoviet periods, how different ethno-religious and confessional communities have been adapting to, and surviving difficult political and social situations, how their religious and cultural identities and communities’ structures have been changed. The research will be done in the framework of methodology of ethnographic and historical research. As a result, a number of articles and a collective monography will be published and a number of seminars and a conference will be held.
