General information
Metasurfaces consisting of rods periodically arranged in sub-wave sizes can serve as effective systems for electromagnetic wave control. In particular, it is possible to build wide, highly efficient absorbent surfaces. The absorption capacity of such absorbent rods can be significantly increased due to the correct choice of their geometrical parameters, the false choice of the dielectric permeability part of the rods corresponding the appropriate choice of the dielectric constant of the medium. Due to the adjustment of the phase response of the system, controllable absorption can be performed, ensuring the phase matching of the falling wave and system. Absorption properties can be further improved by using multi-layer periodic rod systems to increase the absorption coefficient to 0.9, while keeping the reflection coefficient less than 0.1. From the point of view of application, such systems are very attractive due to the fact that they are very thin in comparison with the wavelength to get thin, broadband camouflage "covers".
