General information
This research is aimed to study the rurality crisis in the context of the reproduction of rural activities in Armenia. A sociological survey will be conducted using a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods. The conceptual framework of the research will be built on the basis of rural lifestyle and social welfare indicators, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a dignified lifestyle, fair practices in the sale of agricultural products, as well as socio-cultural characteristics. The study starts from the premise that the continuing economic problems in post-Soviet Armenia, the mass impoverishment of the population (especially rural), the lack of sufficient state support push the able-bodied peasant to become part of a competitive market where land as capital and other capital are less effective and less promising. In the research work, the concept of rurality will be considered as a unique form of social existence, based on the unique socio-cultural and economic relations of the villager, the community, agricultural resources. The research will allow talking about the rurality crisis in the context of global-local social relations.
