General information
Laval University (LU) and Yerevan State University (YSU) have recently renewed (25 Feb.2021) a long-standing and fruitful academic cooperation agreement (signed initially in 2001). We are now pleased to launch another initiative in the framework of this agreement. Namely, we propose to create a research and development (R&D) laboratory in Armenia that will become a partner of a long-term and ambitious R&D program we are engaged currently in Canada. The program uses liquid crystal (LC) materials for the investigation of properties of the biological tissue and for the creation of an innovative technology platform for smart sensing, including adaptive imaging and optogenetics. This will be first applied in biotechnology fields, followed by broader consumer photonic markets. The adaptive imaging part of our work will be of particular practical importance since its results will be also used in robotics, autonomous cars, drones and satellites.
