YSU students met with representatives of the RA Ministry of Finance
At the initiative of the YSU Alumni and Career Center, the representatives of the RA Ministry of Finance held a meeting with the students of the YSU Faculty of Economics and Management on the topic "The Main Functions of the Department of Accounting and Audit Activities Regulation and Reports Monitoring".
The speakers of the meeting were Karen Alaverdyan, Head of the Department of Accounting and Audit Activities Regulation and Reports Monitoring of the RA Ministry of Finance, and Gor Kocharyan, Head of the Financial Reports Monitoring and Audit Regulation Division of the same department. The speakers presented to the students the goals, work functions, features, professional growth and career opportunities of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Armenia, in particular, the Department of Accounting and Audit Activities Regulation and Reports Monitoring.
Karine Nazaryan, the Deputy Director of YSU Alumni and Career Center, referring to the cooperation with the RA Ministry of Finance, emphasized that it was further strengthened thanks to the memorandum signed between YSU and the ministry last year, which created prospects for active cooperation in various directions.
"We developed an action plan for the 2023-2024 academic year together with our specialist colleagues, which includes mutual visits by representatives of the ministry divisions and the teaching staff from the YSU Faculties of Economics and Management, Mathematics and Mechanics, meetings with students, opportunities to conduct joint research works with YSU professors, organization of educational practice in the ministry, promotion of research works of forcibly displaced students from Artsakh, professional discussions, etc.," said Karine Nazaryan.
Karlen Khachatryan, the Dean of the YSU Faculty of Economics and Management emphasized that the faculty always pays great attention to strengthening the connection with employers in the public and private sectors.
"We believe that it is impossible to provide quality education exclusively with academic knowledge, a combination of academic-research-practical components is necessary. Therefore, to strengthen the practical component we regularly organize similar events. In this way, the students have the opportunity to ask questions and communicate directly with the specialists of the Ministry divisions, who present their experience, the state policy conducted in the field, the regulations and developments," said the Dean of the faculty.
Karen Sargsyan, Secretary General of the RA Ministry of Finance, welcoming the students, emphasized that there were almost no such opportunities to meet employers during their student years. The Secretary General of the Ministry expressed hope to strengthen cooperative relations with the YSU Faculty of Economics and Management and further expand the range of jointly implemented projects.
It should be noted that the 3rd and 4th-year students of the "Finance" and "Management" educational programs of the YSU Faculty of Economics and Management, representatives of the YSU teaching staff and the ministry were present at the meeting.
