Festive event at YSU unites knowledge and love
For centuries, love has been one of the most fundamental values across different cultures and societies, inspiring people to seek beauty, kindness, and harmony. In Armenian reality, it holds a special place even within the academic and scientific environment. In this spirit, on February 14, on the eve of the Armenian holiday of love and youth, YSU hosted a vibrant and multifaceted event, bringing together students, academic and administrative staff to share their knowledge and perspectives on the role and significance of love.

During the event, participants had the chance to take photos in a specially designed photo zone, symbolizing the fusion of love and knowledge.
Following this, an award ceremony for the "Where There Are Lessons, There Is Also Love" reels contest and the "Love of Our Elders" quest competition took place at YSU History Museum. The competitions aimed to encourage the study of historical and cultural values, emphasizing the role of love in the lives of prominent Armenians.

"The quests provided participants with the chance to recall moments from the works of intellectuals and brought together various departments of the university, encouraging student involvement in university-wide events. The events organized at the university are primarily aimed at students," stated Tatevik Saroyan, the Director of YSU History Museum named after Professor L. Gharibjanyan.
One of the key events of the day was the panel discussion titled "Love Through the Lens of Different Disciplines", in which representatives from various YSU faculties spoke about the role and forms of love in different scientific fields.
Professional discussions were held with the participation of experts in theology, ethnography, psychology, and biology.
The panel speakers included Davit Hayrapetyan, Candidate of Psychological Sciences, Associate Professor at YSU Faculty of Philosophy and Psychology, Seda Marutyan, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor at YSU Chair of Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Biotechnology, Hranush Kharatyan, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Senior Researcher at the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography, Armenian National Academy of Sciences, and Lusine Tumanyan, Candidate of Historical Sciences, a lecturer at YSU Faculty of Theology. They spoke about the manifestations of love within their respective fields, presenting love from various perspectives and scientific approaches. The speakers also addressed the perceptions of the Feast of St. Sarkis and Valentine’s Day, the differences between these perceptions, and the particularities of love’s role in Armenian cultural and religious traditions.

The event was organized through the joint efforts of YSU Charles Aznavour Cultural Center, the Alumni and Career Center, YSU History Museum named after Professor L. Gharibjanyan, the Marketing Department, and the Center for Continuing Education.
This event not only offered participants the chance to enjoy a festive atmosphere but also encouraged them to reflect on the multifaceted significance of love, both personally and academically.
