COMBINING EDUCATION AND FAMILY: SERIES OF INTERVIEWS DEDICATED TO WOMEN'S MONTH
Aida Janjughazyan is studying at the Faculty of Geography and Geology of YSU, in the "Service" department. Emphasizing the key role of women in various spheres of life, the YSU student strives to use the education received at the university to serve the development of the sphere.
- Aida, will you tell me about the choice of profession? Why did you decide to study at YSU?
- I like to be in such an environment where there is no uniformity. The YSU Faculty of Geography and Geology is just like that. The classes there are conducted using modern methods, giving the opportunity not only to acquire comprehensive knowledge of the field but also to have a full student's daily life. I chose YSU, as I was sure that after graduating from the university, I would be able to contribute to the development of the field. In my opinion, the service sector needs reforms.
- You mentioned that there is a need for reforms in the sector. Does YSU outline ways to solve existing problems in the field?
- Of course. Specialists who are well aware not only of local but also of international experience, teach at the faculty, and this contributes to the development of students' practical skills and broadening of their worldview. They represent informal solutions to the necessary reforms, which are extremely important for the employer.
- And how do you manage to combine family and education?
- I have an inner belief that guides me in different situations, that is to manage time and available resources effectively. By planning my activities, I am able not only to combine family and education but also to do my own business. By the way, the knowledge provided by YSU also plays a big role in its development.
- Yeghishe, the historian of the Golden Age, said, "Give me educated and intelligent mothers, and I will give you an educated and intelligent society." How much do you value the role of educated mothers in state building?
- I confidently say that it is possible to contribute to the formation and development of the national value system through education. The role of parents in this matter is invaluable; after all, the child first learns what they see in the family. This is where the key role of the mother is emphasized. She is the main educator and nurturer of children, and well-mannered children are the builders of a bright future.
- What advice would you give to mothers who are still hesitating to continue their studies at the university?
- I think that we "create" factors affecting our activity, so it is important to realize that phenomena that seem like obstacles at first glance will later become the key to our success. Based on my own experience, I assure you that my family is the force that pushes me to get an education at the university and contribute to the important work of making the world a better place.
