CEREMONY OF HANDING OVER CERTIFICATES TO THE FIRST GRADUATES OF YSU COURSE "COMMUNITY SOCIAL WORK" TOOK PLACE
The “Community Social Work” training lasted 11 months with 19 community social workers from different regions.
At the beginning of the event Yevgine Vardanyan, a representative of YSU Faculty of Sociology, welcomed the guests and the first graduates of the course.
Yevgine Vardanyan noted that the training was conducted by YSU Faculty of Sociology's Distance Learning Laboratory with the support of USAID Armenia Mission, World Vision Armenia, and Armenian Association of Social Workers.
Rafael Barkhudaryan, YSU Vice-rector on Natural and Accurate Professions, made the opening remarks, congratulating the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the YSU Faculty of Sociology's Distance Learning Laboratory, thanking the sponsored organizations and partners and wishing the successful graduates.
USAID Armenia Mission Director thanked YSU for cooperation. "It is a great honor for us to be a partner in this distance learning program, as well as to improve the quality of social services provided in Armenia."
Director of World Vision Armenia Zhirayr Edilyan also thanked his colleagues and YSU for years of work aimed at improving the quality of social work.
Mira Antonyan, President of the Association of Social Workers of Armenia welcomed the guests and the first graduates of the course.
"Our association considers it its task to create a platform for dialogues for all stakeholders in the field - decision makers, policy makers, social workers," Mira Antonyan said.
Artashes Khurshudyan, Head of YSU Faculty of Sociology's Distance Learning Laboratory presented the format and procedure of the “Community Social Work” training course.
