"SCIENCE IS VERY JEALOUS AND DOES NOT TOLERATE INATTENTION OR INDIFFERENCE": HOVHANNES HAROYAN
Head of the Chair of Telecommunications and Signal Processing Hovhannes Haroyan is one of the winners of the competition announced to promote modern teaching methods at YSU.
We talked to Mr. Haroyan about his choice of profession, scientific activity, as well as the challenges in the field and ways to overcome them.
He said, that he loved physics from the very beginning, it was an unspeakable pleasure to solve a problem, and also it was easy. As a graduate of the School of Physics and Mathematics, he had the opportunity to be admitted to YSU Faculty of Physics or Radiophysics.
"I preferred radiophysics, considering it more practical. I also thought that there is a word for physics, so I will definitely study physics, and one more thing, including radio": he said.
Speaking about the methods of the lecturer-scientist, he emphasized the role of motivation.
"If there are two of them - devotion - motivation, then, as they say, it is a matter of technique": he said.
Presenting current researches he said, that the main research of the chair is carried out in the following directions:
Exploring modern communication systems such as 5G-generation networks and looking for ways to improve their performance,
Examination of micro- and non-micro-systems for electromagnetic wave control,
Exploration of broadband and effective absorbing metamaterials.
"I am convinced that in order to have a prosperous country, we need a strong science and a knowledge-based economy, which chance we have": he added.
