NEW PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS ․ THE INTERUNIVERSITY MOOT COURT HAS STARTED

The purpose of the moot court, dedicated to the ongoing legal and criminal issues since 2016, is to provide an opportunity to participate in the judicial process through the roles of the defense or the prosecution and to acquire new professional knowledge and skills through that practical experience.

In a conversation with us, Nelli Tumasyan, Program Coordinator of the German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation in Armenia, stated that one of the goals of the moot court is to apply the acquired knowledge not only in education, but also to have a positive impact on a clearer choice of future specialization.

This year, 10 teams of 3 members applied to participate in the moot court competition.

The teams represent YSU, Artsakh State University, French, Armenian-Russian universities in Armenia and the RA Police Educational Complex.

The oral round of the moot court consists of 5 semi-finals, during which each team plays twice, in one case as a defense and the next as a prosecution.

The two teams with the most points in the semi-finals compete for the winner's cup.

Five games will be held today in the oral stage of the moot-competition, based on the results of which two teams will meet in the final tomorrow and will fight for the title of the winner.
