On May 11, the 5th Annual Chinese Bridge competition took place where Mane Gasparyan, 2nd year student of YSU Faculty of International Relations, won in the nomination “Best Speech”.
The Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Armenia and The Confucius Institute of Yerevan State Linguistic and Social Sciences University has already held the competition for the fifth time.
The competition is held in 4 stages. At the 1st stage, the participants submit a written test, in the 2nd - make a speech in Chinese on the topic selected in advance, in the third round they present cultural issues, and in the 4th - answer to questions which refer to China. The winner will be able to travel to China and take part in the final round of the competition.
This year 7 students from Armenian universities participated in the competition. YSU was represented by the second year student of the Faculty of International Relations Mane Gasparyan and 3rd year student of the same faculty Ofelia Zakaryan.
“The Center of Chinese Language and Chinese Culture at our faculty greatly encouraged students to participate in this contest, organized by the Confucius Institute and the Embassy of China,” - Mane Gasparyan told us.
According to the results of the competition, Mane won in the nomination “Best Speech”. "Her story was titled “One World, One Family”, during which she mentioned that all the peoples of this world are members of one family. This proves the Armenian-Chinese friendship. Despite the distance between our countries, our friends help and support us.
In a conversation with us, Mane pointed out that she started learning Chinese at YSU, and she wants to continue her studies in China.
