YSU IS AMONG TOP BEST: STUDENTS HAVE RETURNED FROM UZBEKISTAN WITH MEDALS
Three students of YSU Faculty of Informatics and Applied Mathematics won 1 gold and 2 silver medals at the international Mathematics contest held at Al-Khoresmi University of Uzbekistan.
More than 50 universities of 20 countries took part in the contest organized at Al-Khoresmi University for the first time. The team representing Armenia was in Uzbekistan from 23 to 31 of October.
The leaders of the team were the postgraduate of the Faculty of Mathematics and Mechanics Nerses Srapionyan and the Master of the same faculty Vazgen Mikaelyan. The lecture of the faculty Karen Keryan worked with the team.
The winner of the gold medal is Arsen Hambardzumyan from Gyumri. He has participated in various contests and Olympiads, won 4 medals and now he added another one. He studied at “Photon” lyceum.
Vahagn Altunyan studied at Artashes Shahiryan school of Physics and Mathematics, then entered YSU Faculty of Informatics and Mathematics. Currently he is the third year student of the faculty. He returned from Uzbekistan with a silver medal.
Sevak Abrahamyan also won a silver medal. The boys studied at the same faculty. They stated that the contest had a high level of organization. The participants were given 5 tasks with growing level of complexity.
Before the contest the participants had a sightseeing tour about the city, communicated with opponents and told them about Armenia.
