CONTEMPORARY CHALLENGES OF CONSTITUTION: CONFERENCE AT YSU FACULTY OF LAW
The conference dedicated to the 80th birthday anniversary Vladik Nersesyants was held at Baleans Hall.
The conference entitled “Contemporary challenges of constitution” was held by the Chair of History and Theory of State and Law and the Chair of Constitutional Law.
The conference dedicated to the 80th birthday anniversary of the Academician of RF AS, Doctor of Law, Professor, philosopher, the author of a number of conceptual works Vladik Nersesyants consisted of two parts. The first part was dedicated to the analysis of the scientific legacy of the eminent scientist, and the second part-to contemporary challenges of constitution.
The head of the Chair of Constitutional Law Vardan Ayvazyan mentioned in his interview to ysu.am that nowadays the philosophy of law has significantly separated from practical law. ”Today the settlement of human relationship is absolutely relied on the laws made situationally ignoring the philosophy. And the aim of today’s conference is to voice the problem that law can’t exist separately from its philosophy”.
Vardan Ayvazyan claimed that eminent scientist Vladik Nersesyants wrote serious conceptual works due to which he is known not only in Armenia and Russia but also abroad. The head of the chair told us that he had known the scientist since childhood, was inspired with his character and ideas.
During the ceremony of opening the conference the Dean of the Faculty of Law Gagik Ghazinyan said that with the reports made during the conference they are going to discover the personality of Vladik Nersesyants and his scientific image. “He was not only an eminent scientist but also a poet. “Those who knew his poetry and his works in the sphere of law certainly felt his independent thinking, his aspiration not to be restricted and reserved”.
The Vice-Rector for Academic Policy and International Cooperation Gegham Gevorgyan said in his greeting speech that law is the ground on which all relationships are built.
“However we have to admit that everyone perceives that right in his/her own way and approaches the life with one’s own philosophy. Academician Nersesyants studied that deep problem and combined law and philosophy. I am happy that with today’s conference we can honour the eminent scientist”.
The Chairman of the RA Supreme Judicial Council, Doctor of Law, Professor Gagik Harutyunyan made a greeting speech too. He mentioned that Academician Nersesyants is one of those unique persons who reached human perfectness. “Many people mention that he was a poet. I think he was a philosopher too. I was blessed to communicate with our compatriot for many years. He was not just a scientist, he was a humanist philosopher who had gone far ahead of his time”.
Before starting the reports, the students of the Faculty of Law, with the assistance of the employee of the Chair of Constitutional Law Anahit Ghazaryan presented the life and activity of the eminent scientist, as well as his poetic world by reading out his works of art.
Vladik Nersesyants's sister, Silva Nersesyants was among those present.
The representatives of the faculty of the Chair of History and Theory of State and Law and the Chair of Constitutional Law came up with reports. Some reports were also made by the members of the RA Supreme Judicial Council, the representatives of the Academy of Justice and the head of the department of providing the activities of the Security Council of the Staff of the President of Artsakh Republic Avetik Harutyunyan.
Summarizing the conference activity the Dean of the Faculty of Law offered to publish the reports in the form of a collection and to make the conferences dedicated to V, Nersesyants’s legacy traditional and to hold Nersesyants’s readings every October, on his birthday.
