A DAY OF STUDENTS’ LEADERSHIP AT YSU

The program started with in the morning with a short rectorate at YSU Academic Council session hall during which the student-rector Khachik Abajyan introduced the temporary administration.

According to him the aim of this already traditional program is to let students rule the university for during a day and to voice the main problems facing the students. Besides, the students get the opportunity to feel and understand the challenges the administration overcomes”. After the program they plan to make report on all the problems outlined by the students and to submit it to YSU Rector. There will also be outlined the problems which have already got solutions after being voiced at the student rectorate.

The student-dean of the Faculty of Radiophysics G. Ohanyan offered to rename the faculty into the Faculty of Information Technologies and Radiophysics as it is more appropriate to contemporary requirements and they must keep up with modern tendencies.

The student-dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management M. Manasyan outlined the problem that their faculty actually have problems with practice. It was offered to increase the time given for practice, to establish ties with organizations, to provide professional field to apply theoretical knowledge. It was also offered to reduce the time given for lectures so as the student could have classes in professional environment.

The third report was made by the student-dean of the Faculty of Russian Philology V. Ohanyan who raised the issue of younger teaching staff for the faculty.

The student –dean of the Faculty of International Relations M. Zazyan reported on the educational programs.

After the Student Rectorate the cultural commission of YSU SC organized a concert of students’ unity. Popular bands and singers of YSU performed during the concert.
