The 2nd Yerevan Book Festival was held at the Armenian General Benevolent Union.
During the festival an exhibition-fair is usually organized with the participation of about 30 publishing houses of Armenia. YSU publishing house participated in the festival as usual.
The director of YSU publishing house Karen Grigoryan told us that every year the university published about 100 names of books most of which are monographies, textbooks, manuals. According to Mr. Grigoryan, the manuals, scientific works presented by YSU publishing house attracted interest among visitors. Such events create a good platform for communication between publishers and readers and getting experience exchange. “The festival should be held every year as they do it in the capitals of neighbouring countries-Tbilisi and Tehran”, said Mr. Grigoryan.
Within the frames of the festival the presentation of the book by YSU Associate Professor Hayk Hambardzumyan entitled “Sasna Tsrer: coverage, motive, book tradition” was held. It was launched at YSU publishing house in 2018. The book deals with comperative analysis of the oral variants of the national epos and with the study of the ties between Armenian medieval literature and Bible.
