ARTHUR ISRAELYAN HAS BEEN APPOINTED YSU VICE RECTOR FOR INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION AND PUBLIC RELATIONS
By the order of YSU acting Rector Gegham Gevogyan, the Associate Professor of YSU Chair of Diplomatic Service and Communication Arthur Israelyan has been appointed Vice-Rector for International Cooperation and Public Relations of “Yerevan State University” foundation.
Arthur Israelyan graduated from YSU Faculty of Oriental Studies. In 1999-2000 took a special course of Arabic Language Teaching Institute for Foreigners in Damascus, Syria. In 2002-2004 studied Master program of the Chair of Arabic Studies of YSU Faculty of Oriental Studies.
In 2004-2007 post-graduated from the Department of History of the Faculty of Philology and Humanitarian Sciences of Damascus University. In 2007 got PhD at Damascus University for “The Military Art of Bahiri Mamluk in Egypt (1250-1382).
Since 2008 has been a lecture at the Chair of Arabic Studies of YSU. In 2010-2014 he was the founder and the head of the Chair of Oriental Languages of Yerevan State Linguistic University. Since 2011 has been Associate Professor of the Chair of Diplomatic Service and Communication of YSU; since 2015- the head of the Centre for Chinese Language and Culture of YSU. In 2014-2019 A. Israelyan was the deputy Dean for Foreign Relations of the Faculty of International Relations of YSU. In January-August 2019 was a member of YSU Board of Trustees.
The scientific interests of A. Israelyan cover Armenian-Chinese historical and cultural relationship, Arabic world in international relations, Islamic studies, Medieval Arabic history and culture,Korean studies, Chinese historiography and writing.
Arthur Israelyan participated in a number of professional trainings and grant programs. In 2009, in Cairo, he was awarded with “Arabic Language and Culture” and “The 15-year Armenian-Egyptian Diplomacy and Friendship” medals, in 2014 was awarded with YSU Rector’s thanksgiving diploma.
Arthur Israelyan is a member of the Board of Trustees of “Armenian-Chinese School of Friendship” and a member of the Scientific Council of YSU Faculty of International Relations.
