A discussion titled "Contextual and Developmental Model to Understand the Effects of Various and Complex Traumatic Experiences" was held at the YSU Faculty of Philosophy and Psychology. It was organized in the framework of cooperation between the YSU Continuing Education Center, the Armenian Scientific Association of Psychologists NGO, and the YSU Faculty of Philosophy and Psychology.
The main speaker of the discussion Boris Drozek, presented his research on the topic, referring to his rich experience working with refugees, victims of political violence, and the consequences of war. Boris Drozek presented innovative tools to help these groups, which are of great importance to professionals providing psychological support. Today, the entire psychological professional community is involved in the work of giving psychosocial rehabilitation support to our society, particularly to our compatriots who were forcibly displaced from Artsakh and found refuge in Armenia.
In this context, Boris Drozek presented another toolkit for working with the mentioned groups.
Getting to know the methods and tools used in different countries of the world contributes to strengthening the abilities and knowledge of the Armenian psychological community. The meeting also discussed the problem of trauma in the intergenerational context, which negatively affects the process of surviving and overcoming new situations for both the individual and society.
