The Educational and Research Center of Information Technologies of YSU was founded in 2007. It is a hub of new interdisciplinary combinations, where research in the field of informatics and IT is carried out. The purpose of the center's activity is to support the electronic management and quality assurance of the educational process, as well as to create job prospects for graduates.
The YSU Information Technologies Educational and Research Center has a two-level education system: Master's and Postgraduate.
The Master's program "Information Systems Management" operating at the center is aligned with the same educational program in the field of IT management of New York University.
The "Visual Computing" Master's program was created in 2010. In collaboration with the University of Rostock (Germany). It covers computer graphics, image processing, and computer vision, applying modern modeling and machine learning techniques. The language of teaching is English.
The Master's program "Information Systems Development" is a multi-year educational program adapted to the modern requirements of the field.
The results of the research conducted at the center have been published in informatics and IT sphere journals with a high impact factor and in the collections of international conferences, as well as presented at foreign conferences.
More than 10 US patents co-authored by students and Postgraduate students of the center play a significant role.
YSU educational process management electronic systems were fully developed by the information systems department of the center and the laboratory of new educational technologies. Those systems were successfully implemented in 2019 in unprecedented pandemic conditions.
Meetings with the best specialists of leading companies are regularly organized at the center, and master classes of foreign professors and leading researchers are held to develop students' professional skills.
Students and graduates of the center work in leading foreign and Armenian IT companies, including: "Apple", "Google", "Amazon", "Meta", "Microsoft", "Intel", "Samsung", "Synopsys", " Siemens EDA, PicsArt, Armsoft, Krisp, Cisco, Volo, Xilinx, etc.
As part of exchange programs, the center offers foreign students training in educational programs in English and Russian, as well as students of the center have the opportunity to study at prestigious universities abroad.
