We are delighted to inform you that the World Bank Legal Vice Presidency (LEG VPU) will commence accepting applications for the 2023 Fall Cycle of the Legal Internship Program (LIP) tomorrow (April 1, 2023). The application deadline is April 30, 2023. The incoming cohort will commence its tenure in September 2023 and is expected to conclude it in November 2023.
We will continue to hold the 2023 Fall Cycle of LIP in a hybrid format (giving due consideration to personal preferences and prevailing circumstances). We look forward to fully availing of the hybrid arrangement to carry on with the objective of the Program of providing selected interns first-hand exposure to the day-to-day operations of the World Bank by closely collaborating with staff in LEG VPU.
LEG VPU provides a variety of legal services in different departmental units, including operational project finance in different regions, environmental law, corporate finance, administrative law, and more. Similarly to earlier cohorts, members of the 2023 Fall Cycle of LIP will be designated to a LEG VPU unit to perform legal tasks with our lawyers. Kindly note, we only accept applications from students who are enrolled in an LLB, JD, LLM, SJD, PhD, or equivalent legal academic program on November 30, 2023 and before (“currently enrolled law students”).
For further details on the selection criteria, requirements, terms of reference, and to submit an application, please visit the Legal Internship Program website or contact us at legalinternship@worldbank.org.
As always, I did not want to miss the opportunity to take a moment to express our immense appreciation for your partnership over the past LIP cycles and continuous support in spreading the word around LIP. Without your efforts, we could not have attracted such brilliant, dedicated, and hardworking students. With the launch of our novel application period, your aid in promoting LIP amongst your students and in your networks would equally be appreciated to allow exceptional candidates to avail of this opportunity. We look forward to collaborating with, rendering opportunities to, and learning from yet another highly diverse and competent cohort in the fall of 2023.
