In collaboration with the Faculty of Geography and Geology and the Alumni and Career Center of Yerevan State University, the first-ever "GeoHackathon-2024" program was held from November 24-26, 2024.
The primary goal of the "GeoHackathon-2024" was to provide participants with the opportunity to enhance their knowledge and skills, as well as to create a platform for collaboration where students could work in teams, improving their teamwork abilities and professional qualities. Through the educational seminars conducted during the program, participants not only expanded their skill set, but also gained valuable experience working with industry professionals.
During the meetings, the guests shared their experiences, including their successes and challenges, and provided insights into the key formulas for achieving success. As part of the program, professional expertise was shared by the following individuals: Lyuba Mirzoyan and Tiruhi Mkrtchyan, Associate Professors from the Chair of Geophysics, Engineering Geology and Hydrogeology, who presented on the topic "Geological Monuments of Armenia as a Tourist Destination"; Irina Sahakyan, Lecturer from the Chair of Service, who discussed "Event Planning"; Mariam Nikoyan, a legal expert, who addressed "Methods of Dispute Resolution and the Mediation Model"; Susanna Martirosyan, the Director of the Government and Public Relations Department of the Union of Miners and Metallurgists of Armenia, who presented on "Media Literacy"; and Alexander Mirakyan, Founder CEO of Sky Tour, who spoke on "Business from Scratch: The Key to Success."
The program was open to 30 students from all departments of the faculty, providing them with professional knowledge, new networking opportunities, enhanced teamwork skills, and the experience of self-expression.
At the end of the program, the most active students were awarded certificates in recognition of their participation.
