On November 19, at 3:00 p.m., the last performance directed by Lala Mnatsakanyan, the "Amazing Tribe", based on four stories by William Saroyan, was held at the YSU Charles Aznavour Cultural Center, with the participation of students from Yerevan State Theatre and Film Institute.
Lala Mnatsakanyan's family, relatives, students, colleagues, and admirers of her art were present at the performance, which was brought to life through months of hard work by Professor Anna Hekekyan, a lecturer at YSTFI.
The actress was a dear friend of YSU Charles Aznavour Cultural Center, a constantly awaited guest and colleague. Karine Davtyan, the Director of the center, sharing memories of the actress, noted in her speech that experience exchange and master classes were often organized. Stories about Lala Mnatsakanyan were also shared by her husband, Honored Artist of the Republic of Armenia Ashot Hambardzumyan, lecturer at the YSTFI, Professor Anna Hekekyan, and director David Harutyunyan, along with students and relatives who knew and appreciated the beloved artist.
Lala Mnatsakanyan was born on October 8, 1957, in Yerevan, in the family of an actress and a mathematician. Her mother, Eliza Gyuleseryan, was an associate professor of stage speech, and her father, Babken Mnatsakanyan, was a mathematician, candidate of mathematical sciences, associate professor. She was the third girl in the family. After graduating from School No. 78 in Yerevan, she was admitted to the Department of Acting for Theater and Cinema at Yerevan State Institute of Fine Arts and Theater, where she graduated with honors in 1978. Throughout her career, she played many roles in theater, cinema, and television. She performed interesting roles in various theaters: Yerevan Youth Experimental Theater, Vanadzor State Drama Theater after Hovhannes Abelyan, Gabriel Sundukyan Academic Theater, Metro Theater, Mher Mkrtchyan Artistic Theater.
She was the author and performer of the script for 140 short stories.
Since 1991, she taught stage speech at Yerevan State Theatre and Film Institute, where she was a professor of stage speech. She co-authored the first and only Armenian-language textbook, "The Art of Delivering Artistic Speech".
Throughout the event, the actress’s spirit and essence were felt, with her characteristic subtle humor and warmth creating an intimate atmosphere.
