International Day of Women and Girls in Science at YSU
YSU Museum
On February 12, 2024, at 4:30 p.m., an event dedicated to the International Day of Women and Girls in Science will be held at YSU History Museum.
The following questions will be addressed during the event:
- Why is the number of women engaged in science significantly lower than the number of men?
- To what extent are women involved in different branches of science in Armenia?
- Do women in science face barriers to employment?
- How do colleagues, family and society in general perceive women scientists?
The keynote speakers are:
- Susanna Gaginyan, Lecturer at the Nuclear Physics Chair, YSU Institute of Physics, Researcher at the International Centre of Advanced Studies,
- Sona Manusyan, Candidate of Psychological Sciences, Associate Professor, YSU Faculty of Psychology, Chair of Personality Psychology,
- Yulia Antonyan, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor, YSU Faculty of History, Chair of Cultural Studies,
- Nvard Manasyan, Expert on education and gender issues,
- Anna Poladyan, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Head of YSU Chair of Biochemistry, Microbiology and Biotechnology, Faculty of Biology.
The discussion will be led by the Director of the Continuing Education Center of YSU, Lusine Kharatyan.
