Chair of Pharmaceutical Technology and Pharmacy Economics and Management

The Chair was established in 2015 based on the foundation of the Chair of Pharmaceutical Chemistry operating since 1998 at the YSU Faculty of Pharmacology and Chemistry. In 2017, the Chair of Pharmaceutical Technology and Pharmacy Economics and Management was included in the newly created Institute of Pharmacy.

The Chair is equipped with the necessary laboratories and modern equipment, which provide an opportunity to carry out educational activities at a high level and by modern requirements. The Chair organizes professional internships in the leading pharmacy chains and pharmaceutical factories of the Republic of Armenia, and some professional courses are conducted in various research institutes and pharmaceutical companies of the Republic of Armenia.

Part of the courses are held in the Chair through distance learning systems, which allows students to establish direct contact with leading pharmaceutical organizations, get acquainted with marketing programs, and a list of drugs registered in the Republic of Armenia, which contributes to the student becoming a sought-after specialist in the future.

The teaching staff of the Chair, along with educational activities, is engaged in scientific research as well. They study the antimicrobial activity of non-protein amino acids and their peptides, antibiotic resistance studies, separation of biologically active substances from plant raw materials and their biological properties, pharmaceutical analyses, etc.

The Chair offers "Pharmacy" Undergraduate and Master's, "Pharmaceutical Chemistry" Undergraduate, and "Drug Quality Control" Master's degree educational programs.
