6. Resources and forms to support learning
The three specialized chairs of the Institute of Pharmacy contributing to the learning outcomes established by the programme are “Biomedicine”, “Pharmtechnology and pharmacy economics and management” and “Pharmaceutical chemistry and pharmacognosy”. The chairs include modern academic and research laboratories (drugstore and industrial technology, pharmacology, pharmacopoeia analysis, pharmaceutical chemistry, etc.) equipped with pharmacy and analytical modern equipment and cabinets.
In particular, the scientific and educational laboratory of "Quality Control and Monitoring of Pharmaceutical Preparations" has installed modern analytical equipment necessary for the investigation of the structure of medicinal substances: high-performance liquid chromatographs, gas chromatographs, ion chromatographs, infrared (IR) spectrometer, and liquid chromatograph with spectrometric detector, inductively coupled plasma, optical emission spectrometer, polarimeter necessary for determining the optical purity of chiral drugs, melting point determination device, high-precision technical and analytical scales, etc.
The institute has classrooms equipped with computers, which enable to organize lectures with observational materials, as well as distance learning and online lectures. To fully master the course, students are also provided with electronic materials and books. Some printed books and methodological manuals for students are available at the YSU library and the office of the Institute of Pharmacy.
