About the program
Admission requirements
Admission to the "Pharmacy" educational program is carried out by the admission procedure approved by the Government of the Republic of Armenia.
For admission, the applicants take exams of their choice in two of the subjects "Biology", "Physics" or "Chemistry".
The aim of the program
The program aims to train high-quality pharmacists meeting international standards, who will be endowed with fundamental knowledge, abilities, and practical skills of the field, which will enable them to provide the entire spectrum of pharmaceutical services in various branches of pharmacy (public, pharmaceutical production, health centers, drug expert centers, laboratories, etc.)
Advantages
The Institute of Pharmacy has professional chairs equipped with modern pharmacy and analytical equipment, equipped educational and research laboratories (pharmacy and factory technology, pharmacology, pharmacology analysis, pharmaceutical chemistry, etc.), and offices.
The institute has classrooms equipped with computers, which make it possible to organize lectures equipped with didactic materials, as well as televised online lectures.
To master the courses fully, students are also provided with electronic materials and books, and students can purchase some printed books and educational manuals from the YSU library and the office of the Institute of Pharmacy.

Upon completing the program, the student will be able to present the characteristics of the professional work of pharmacy, health care and related fields, modern and fundamental concepts, theories, and study methods, to present the principles of design, creation, preparation, analysis, circulation of drugs and pharmaceutical raw materials, to define the principles of pharmacy, health care, biomedical and the research basics in related fields.
At the end of the program, the student will be able to demonstrate innovative and advanced approaches, applying the gained knowledge and understanding in pharmacy, healthcare, and related fields in solving unforeseen problems arising during professional work or studies, to present and explain information, arguments, ideas, problems and their solutions related to pharmacy and healthcare to colleagues, other healthcare professionals and the public, to collect, store, process, analyze, interpret and present information to facilitate work to solve professional issues, using modern information technologies.
The graduates will be able to identify and solve professional problems based on analysis and combination, applying critical thinking, research, and creative approach, work in a team and cooperate effectively with team members, observe the norms of ethics and conduct, use normative legal documents of the professional field, implement and manage professional functions and programs in an unpredictable working or study environment, assuming responsibility for individuals in teamwork, determining further professional development or work paths.
Career opportunities
Graduates of the educational program work in the following institutions operating in pharmacy and related professional fields: public and hospital pharmacies (pharmacist), regulatory bodies and structures in the field of drug circulation (Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia, Health and Labor Inspection Body, Centre of Drug and Medical Technology Expertise, etc.), drug production, Armenian representative offices of foreign suppliers and drug manufacturers (pharmacist-representative), scientific research institutions, other fields requiring pharmaceutical education.
Graduates of the program have the opportunity to continue their studies in the specialty "Pharmacy" both at the YSU Institute of Pharmacy, at the YSU Master's program, and at various professional institutes of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia, at the American University of Armenia, etc.
