* With 4 semesters, each lasting 8 weeks, followed by an exam period. Master's thesis defense is carried out in the final semester.
The program includes fundamental professional courses and organizes professional practice (internship).
Admission Requirements
Admission is conducted in two stages.
Graduates of the last three academic years (the calculation of academic years starts from the current academic year) of the same specialty (educational program) of the YSU undergraduate study have the opportunity to participate in the 1st stage of admission, according to their final certification score and GPA documented in the diploma supplement.
The admission of applicants in the 1st stage is carried out without an entrance exam, in a competitive manner, based on their certification score and meeting a minimum GPA threshold.
The entrance requirements at this stage are set each year by the order of the rector.
Applications for the 2nd stage of admission are accepted only from the applicants of "Pharmacy", "Pharmaceutics", "Pharmaceutical Chemistry", "General Medicine" and "Dentistry" bachelor's educational programs, as well as from the related bachelor's educational programs, within the framework of which " Biology", "Anatomy and Physiology" and "Biochemistry" courses are studied.
The entrance exam format is oral.
The entrance exam for the 2nd stage is organized as follows:
Admission for applicants from "Pharmacy", "Pharmaceutics", "Pharmaceutical Chemistry", "General Medicine" and "Dentistry" bachelor's educational programs is conducted through an interview.
Admission for applicants from related bachelor's educational programs, within the framework of which "Biology", "Anatomy and Physiology" and "Biochemistry" courses are studied, is conducted through a professional oral examination with a questionnaire provided in advance. Top of Form

Aim of the Program
The educational program aims to equip specialists with extensive knowledge in pharmacy, enabling them to play a crucial role in healthcare teams by ensuring the safe and effective use of medications. It also focuses on developing students' professional capabilities for conducting research across various directions of pharmacy, including synthesizing medicinal substances, investigating and certifying structures, studying mechanisms of action, and developing new dosage forms from medicinal substances.

At the end of the program, students will demonstrate proficiency in presenting the latest advancements in pharmacy applied to work, learning, and research processes, as well as strategic approaches, theories and advanced principles in the development of pharmacy, healthcare and related fields, modern approaches to scientific research, teaching methods and related theories.
At the end of the program, the student will master key professional skills that are necessary for combining the knowledge of pharmacy, healthcare and related fields and creating new knowledge, as well as solving theoretical and practical challenges in pharmacy in new and unfamiliar situations, demonstrating effective communication skills with patients, colleagues, healthcare professionals and the public, providing counseling services and disseminating information while engaging in research and innovation activities.
At the end of the program, students will have the ability to collect, store, process, analyze, evaluate, interpret, and present information using modern specialized computer programs to solve complex professional problems. They will conduct research, analyze and evaluate issues within the professional field, propose modern scientific approaches for solutions, predict potential developments, and develop innovative and creative solutions to advance knowledge and practice in the field. Additionally, students will be able to engage in international professional and scientific research activities and carry out full and independent professional activities in pharmacy and healthcare, applying deep professional knowledge, abilities, skills, and demonstrating appropriate behavior.
The Institute of Pharmacy has professional chairs equipped with modern pharmacy and analytical equipment, equipped educational and research laboratories (pharmacy and factory technology, pharmacology, pharmacology analysis, pharmaceutical chemistry, etc.), and offices.

The institute has classrooms equipped with computers, which makes it possible to organize lectures equipped with didactic materials, as well as online lectures for distance learning.
To master the courses fully, students are also provided with electronic materials and books, and students can borrow some printed books and educational manuals from the YSU library and the office of the Institute of Pharmacy.
The internship is conducted in the following institutions: "Armbiotechnology SPC" SNPO of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia, Scientific Technological Center of Organic and Pharmaceutical Chemistry of NAS RA, L. A. Orbeli Institute of Physiology of NAS RA, Scientific Research Institute of Spa Treatment and Physical Medicine, "Scientific Center of Drug and Medical Technology Expertise After Academician Emil Gabrielyan" CJSC, etc.

Graduates of the "Pharmacy" Master's program can work in institutions operating in pharmacy and related professional fields: public and hospital pharmacies (pharmacist), medical institutions (clinical pharmacologist), drug manufacturing companies (qualified specialist pharmaceutical production, pharmacist-technologist), the Centre of Drug and Medical Technology Expertise of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia (chief specialist, leading specialist, specialist), Armenian Health and Labor Inspection Body (pharmacist-inspector), expert centers (quality control and evaluation expert, expert), pharmaceutical wholesale organizations (responsible pharmacologist, pharmaceutical marketing specialist), Armenian representative offices of foreign pharmaceutical manufacturers (pharmacist-representative, drug promotion specialist), research institutions (researcher), educational institutions (lecturer, assistant).
Graduates of the program can continue their studies both at the chairs of the Institute of Pharmacy, Yerevan State University, as well as at post-graduate programs of different professional institutes of Yerevan State Medical University after Mkhitar Heratsi and National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia.
