About the program
Admission requirements
The applicants of the "Physics" educational program should have a secondary or vocational (primary, middle, higher) education.
Admission is carried out according to the "Regulation of admission to RA state and non-state higher educational institutions (according to the Bachelor's educational program)" approved by the Government of the Republic of Armenia. Applicants take exams in "Mathematics" (written) (compulsory), "Physics" or "English" (written) (as per applicant's choice), and "Armenian language" (written, non-competitive).
The aim of the program
The program aims to provide students with fundamental knowledge and understanding of modern physics (including theoretical physics, laser physics, condensed state physics, macromolecule physics, elementary particle physics, and astrophysics), to develop general mental abilities in students, especially to analyze and to critically use the information obtained from various scientific sources of physics, to develop students' ability to make decisions, to apply in practice the professional knowledge of the theory and methods of physical research to perform relevant work and (or) to continue their studies.

Graduates of the program work in enterprises operating in the field, higher education institutions, as well as academic and research institutes.
Career opportunities are the educational and scientific divisions of the YSU Institute of Physics, as well as other universities, colleges and schools, the YSU Physics Research Institute (YSU Physics Research Institute), the Institutes of Applied Physics, Physical Research and Radiophysics of the RA NAS, National Laboratory named after A. I. Alikhanyan, "Laser Techniques" joint venture, Armenian-Greek joint LT-Pirkal CJSC, Byurakan Observatory, state and private enterprises operating in the field of IT.
Graduates of the program may continue their studies with a Master's degree.
