Master's programme
About the program
Admission requirements
Admission is carried out by the requirements of the "YSU Master's Degree Admission Procedure".
The aim of the program
The program aims to prepare qualified personnel who have mastered the achievements of modern science in the field of radiophysics, capable of understanding their development prospects, to provide knowledge about the principles of computer modeling and design of physical problems in the microwave and TH range and their features.
Advantages
Upon the completion of the program, the student will be able to:
- Distinguish and coordinate the main frequency bands of the SHF range, standards, and their meaning,
- Formulate the features and problems of generation, propagation, and detection of electromagnetic waves in the sub-millimeter, terahertz, and optical ranges,
- Explain the mechanisms and characteristics of absorption and radiation of radio waves by different materials, the principles of operation of radio sources (generators, radiating antennas, resonators, etc.) and receivers (diodes, receiving antennas, waveguides, etc.), the principle and characteristics of the operation of hairs and photodetectors of different wavelengths,
- Present the protocols and algorithms used and planned in modern communication systems,
- Classify the theoretical foundations of information processing and transmission, coding and modulation methods,
- Work with devices that implement remote sensing and remote control in the radio frequency range, knowing the principles of their operation,
- Apply devices operating in the terahertz range of electromagnetic waves in various fields of science and technology, knowing the physical principles that ensure their operation,
- Work with modern radiophysical devices used in science, production, security, and military fields,
- Operate modern computer programs for computer simulation of radiophysical problems,
- Apply computer modeling and simulation software packages in designing modern nodes (waveguides, resonators, filters, etc.) of devices in the SHF range and providing the required parameters,
- Carry out consensus and compatibility assessment in design devices,
- Use the characteristics of the propagation of electromagnetic waves in the radio range, to improve the basic parameters of radio receivers, and radiators in separate nodes of remote sensing and remote control systems, using modern sources of information (print and online literature) to classify and analyze information to formulate practical problems and propose practical solutions;
- Analyze and present the results of scientific research, prepare reports, and conduct scientific seminars,
- Successfully integrate and work in scientific research groups, as well as manage scientific production associations,
- Be guided by the rules of professional ethics.
