As part of the memorandum of understanding between YSU and Geo-Nal, a course was held at the YSU Faculty of Geography and Geology to enhance the practical skills of students in the "Cartography and Cadastral Work" program. Geo-Nal specialists demonstrated the advantages of using advanced laser scanning devices for internal real estate measurements. Students actively participated by measuring the faculty’s corridors and auditoriums, with the data subsequently processed using computer technology. H. Sahakyan, the company's Head, emphasized that such events will continue and include field conditions in the future. Faculty Dean S. Kelyan underscored the importance of these collaborations for providing students with direct market connections.
Geo-Nal is the official representative of the companies Leica Geosystems and Leica Microsystems in Armenia. Leica Geosystems is known for its leading geodetic solutions, including advanced measuring and laser scanning technologies. Leica Microsystems, on the other hand, specializes in high-quality optical, digital, and laser microscopes.
It is worth noting that Geo-Nal donated expensive geodetic and cartographic equipment to the YSU Faculty of Geography and Geology. This donation includes a digital tachometer, a GNSS receiver and station with accessories, and laser measuring devices. These additions will significantly enhance the efficiency of both educational and research processes at the faculty.
