Employees of the Mining and Metallurgy Institute, Gurgen Malkhasyan and Grigor Grigoryan, were hosted at YSU Faculty of Geography and Geology.
Geologist Grigor Grigoryan presented the collected data on mineral deposits and occurrences, based on the "Micromine" software. The sources for this work included various sources such as reports, passports, and maps of mineral deposits and occurrences compiled over the years, covering different scales.
Geophysicist Gurgen Malkhasyan introduced the faculty’s teaching staff and students to the repository of Armenia's geological maps and its history of creation.
The non-commercial website "Geological Maps of Armenia" contains a collection of geological, geophysical, geochemical, mineral resources, and other types of maps, sourced from the personal archives of several geologists, as well as reports presented on the website of the Armenian Republic Geological Fund. The website provides valuable resources for students conducting research, as well as for specialists studying the geological structure of Armenia's territory.
