About the program
The Master's degree education of the Turkology Chair of the Faculty of Oriental Studies is carried out according to the "Turkish History-Philology" educational program.
Admission requirements
Those with a Bachelor's degree in the field of "Oriental Studies" are admitted to the Master's degree via competition. Students with a Bachelor's degree in other specialties can participate in the Master's degree admission competition after passing the exam corresponding to the Bachelor's degree state examination program of the given specialty. The admission of graduates of foreign universities to the Master's degree program is carried out via interview and is based on the professional opinion of the committee of the relevant faculty.

The aim of the program
By receiving higher professional education, students acquire the necessary knowledge and practical skills to be sought-after and competitive specialists in the labor market. The duration of the "Turkish History-Philology" educational program is 2 years, during which students receive both general, professional, and narrow professional knowledge.
Upon the completion of "The Turkish History-Philology" Master's program, the graduates master the issues of the Turkic and Middle Eastern historical and cultural areas, modern approaches to the interdisciplinary study of politics, and have a deep understanding of the global and local issues related to the region from the perspective of the RA state interests. They can work in scientific, educational, and other professional fields and analyze the results of various research, as well as the ability to perform translation work (written and oral). The program provides the student with knowledge and understanding of the ethnolinguistic, religious value system, geopolitical, and socio-cultural nature of the Turkic language and adjacent regions, forms the ability to apply interdisciplinary knowledge in the ethnolinguistic, religious and cultural, socio-economic, and political fields to outline the main trends in the development of the Turkic and adjacent regions.

Students of the Faculty of Oriental Studies become specialists meeting the requirements of the local and international market, who have the opportunity to work in both state and private institutions. Orientalists are in demand in the staff of the President of the Republic of Armenia, the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defense, the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia, the information-analytical and foreign relations departments of other state agencies, non-state organizations, and media conducting political science, economic and cultural research, as well as in those companies engaged in tourism, export, etc. Some of the graduates can carry out scientific and educational activities in such important scientific centers of RA as RA National Academy of Sciences, Matenadaran named after M. Mashtots, Yerevan State University, and other public and private universities, as well as scientific research centers.
