About the program
Admission requirements

Admission is based on the results of the following exams: "Armenian Language and Literature" (written), "Armenian History" (written), or "Foreign Language" (written).
The aim of the program
The educational program aims to provide students with deep and comprehensive knowledge of scientific methods that study art, to develop the skills of students to perform artistic analyses and studies, and to prepare specialists with high theoretical training, the ability and skills to perform research, administrative, and public work.
Advantages
The "Art Studies" Undergraduate educational program will take a leading position in RA, because its content corresponds to and satisfies the solution of the problems faced by Armenian art education, and the recognized specialists of the republic will be involved in its implementation. In addition to the YSU art department, there is a similar department in Armenia at the Academy of Fine Arts and the Armenian State Pedagogical University named after Kh.Abovyan. Compared to the latter, the YSU bachelor's art studies education program has the following main advantages: advanced teaching of Armenian and world art, especially ancient and medieval art. The main advantages of the YSU "Arts" Bachelor's educational program are the more advanced teaching of Armenian architecture, archaeological subjects, Armenian and world history, as well as two foreign languages. The implementation of the Bachelor's education program of the YSU art department is appropriate if we consider the aforementioned advantages, which are in line with the nature and requirements of the existing and emerging labor market.
Career opportunities
The graduates of the "Arts" educational program have the opportunity to continue their education in Armenian or foreign universities with Master's educational programs.
The labor market for art scholars and art historians in Armenia includes state research and emerging private centers, public and private educational institutions, public schools, museums, libraries, tourism and publishing, radio and TV channels, as well as press and private art galleries.
