On February 19, 2025, the presentation of the university manual titled "A Repository of Exercises and Practical Tasks in Logic" took place at YSU Faculty of Philosophy and Psychology.
The event commenced with welcoming remarks by Elina Asriyan, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at YSU, and Aleksan Baghdasaryan, Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy and Psychology.
Associate Professor Hovhannes Hovhannisyan, who led the group for YSU internal grant program titled "Incorporation and Development of the Components of Logic, Argumentation, and Eloquence in University Educational Programs", presented the results of the three-year project. These included the publication of over 30 scientific articles, reports at both local and international conferences, master classes and lectures at YSU, as well as sessions with local and international organizations, and collaboration with student councils and scientific societies. The project also contributed to the improvement of educational methodological packages for university courses and the introduction of a new course "Thinking Technologies and AI" into the faculty’s educational program.
H. Hovhannisyan further outlined the structure and content of the manual developed as part of the research program. The manual is designed for both undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as lecturers and researchers interested in logic, argumentation, and related topics. It contains over a thousand exercises and practical tasks, ranging from formal to mathematical logic, as well as non-standard forms of logic such as modal, interrogative, and counterfactual logic.
The event was attended by YSU faculty members and students, as well as guests from partner universities, including the Armenian State Pedagogical University, the French University in Armenia, the Armenian State University of Economics, the Komitas State Conservatory, and postgraduate educational institutions.
Since the presentation coincided with the birthday of Hovhannes Tumanyan and Book Day, the concluding part of the event featured a student quiz based on the tasks included in the manual. The winners were awarded copies of the manual as prizes. The event concluded with beautiful musical performances.
