YSU Faculty of Philosophy and Psychology hosted a scientific-practical event titled "Psychological Vernissage," organized jointly by the Chair of General Psychology at YSU and the "Union of Psychologists of Armenia" NGO. This annual spring event aims to bring together professionals from the field of psychology, students, and representatives of psychological centers for experience sharing, collaboration, and the development of new initiatives. It provides a platform for both emerging and experienced specialists in psychology to present their programs and activities, while also offering students an opportunity to explore the prospects and professional pathways within the discipline.
The event commenced with an opening speech by Dr. Hrant Avanesyan, Head of the Chair of General Psychology YSU, and President of the Union of Psychologists of Armenia. Emphasizing the scientific and educational significance of the initiative, he stated: "The 'Psychological Vernissage' scientific-practical event aims to create more interactive and informative platforms and opportunities for psychologists. Similar events enhance professional practice, self-education, professional development, healthy competition, and collaboration. It serves as a bridge connecting academic and applied institutions, as well as private and public entities within the field of psychology. In the long term, the vision is for the vernissage to expand its opportunities in terms of employers and organizations, ultimately evolving into an event of international scope."
It should be noted that within the framework of the "Psychological Vernissage," this year the university hosted specialists from over twenty psychological centers, several higher education institutions with their academic programs, public organizations, and scientific laboratories showcasing their exclusive equipment and tools. The event also welcomed individual psychologists and researchers.
The Student Scientific Society of the faculty also played an active role in the scientific-practical event by organizing a conference that included discussions on various scientific topics and research presentations.
The organizational efforts of the "Psychological Vernissage" were actively supported by the faculty’s volunteer team, led by Diana Sargsyan, Associate Professor in the Chair of General Psychology at YSU. She noted that the scale of the event was unprecedented. According to her, the number of participants this year exceeded expectations, which speaks to the success and anticipated nature of the initiative.
The "Psychological Vernissage" scientific-practical event also featured exhibitions of professional literature, booths representing academic journals, as well as intellectual and creative games and competitions.
