To be admitted to the "Sociology" educational program, entrance exams in the "Armenian language and literature", and "Foreign language" ("English") are taken.

The program has been operating since 1991, training professionals who have versatile, systematic knowledge and skills in the necessary video-methodological approaches, and research methods for sociology, social processes, and relations. Graduates receive a Bachelor's degree in "Sociology".

Those with secondary education have the opportunity to apply for the educational program according to the developed state procedure.

Graduates of the "Sociology" Bachelor's educational program work in research fields, to continue their education in Master's programs both at YSU and at higher educational institutions around the world.

Graduates with a Bachelor's degree in "Sociology" are required to:

• State bodies,
• Local self-government bodies,
• Scientific and research organizations,
• Information and consulting organizations,
• Community service organizations,
• Educational institutions,
• Health and environmental agencies,
• Design analytical research centers,
• Expert advisory research structures,
• the marketing, monitoring, and evaluation departments of enterprises and organizations in various economic sectors,
• Public opinion research centers, including various news, international non-governmental, public and human rights organizations, and enterprises related to the justice system, regional planning agencies, as well as social assistance agencies.

Graduates will have the opportunity to work as methodologists, monitors, evaluation and marketing research specialists, interviewers, coders, data processors and managers, analysts, consultants.
